I love the fact that IU doesn't wear white pants on the road. I know it shouldn't matter, and a lot of teams do it when wearing a colored shirt that contrasts with the home team. But this is baseball, and grey is the road color. I do allow an exception for Sunday Reds, but I think those may have been retired.

A double and a wild pitch put a runner at third with one out. A short fly to Taylor in left is the second out and Taylor throws out the runner at home, but the call is under review and to me looks like it may get overturned.

Joey Brenczewski is the first baseman and Brock Tibbitts moves behind the plate. The pattern is consistent with last week. I think coach Mercer likes this. Tibbitts is a high level first baseman. Likely a slight defensive edge with Tibbitts at first and Jake Stadler catching Fridays and Saturdays. As the pitching gets thinner, the more offensive setup of Tibbitts catching and Joey B at first allows IU to just outscore opponents.

Enzo Apodaca 1.084; Hunter Teplanszky .810

The Bears have really struggled to score runs this season. The Hoosier pitchers should attack the zone and make the Bears prove that they can hit.

Baylor starting pitcher Jared Matheson had a 1.63 WHIP, 22.3 K%, 13 BB%, with a 1-1 record in 15 appearances in 15 games for Baylor in 2023. Last week he had a 2 inning start, giving up 3 earned runs walking three batters. He allowed one hit and struckout two.
