I'm on site at the Bart. Lefty St. Francis transfer Deron Swanson, coming off a solid 3+ inning start at Indiana State, will open this one for the Hoosiers on the mound. I would expect to see a lot of different pitchers for both teams.

While the series was already clinched, the Hoosiers have ground to gain in both the RPI and the B1G standings. A team with Indiana's aspirations will have to sweep the few series where that is realistic. I think this series is realistic. Ohio State is a lower-tier B1G team this season and given they were leading most of Friday night, they unloaded their best two lefty bullpen arms. The Hoosiers should have the advantage here.

Ohio State will be starting righty Jake Michalak. He has a 2.43 WHIP. He's started all four games he's appeared in averaging just over 3 innings per start. He strikes out and walks a lot of batters. Both more than one per inning. Hoosiers will want to be patient and try to work walks.

Indiana is keeping the hot bat of freshman Hogan Denny in the line up at designated hitter. Will Moore is starting at second base. I would expect to see Joey Brenczewski available for pinch hitting in strong RBI situations, though Moore is very solid in a situation in which bunting is called for.

That was an ugly inning from the Buckeye defense. The first error was a throwing error by Maddix Simpson but it did not seem that far off the bag. Will Carpenter didn't make any attempt to stay on the bag. Then Trey Lipsey let a very playable single get past him that lead to two runs scoring.

Cerny walks on 4 pitches. That should do it for Michalak. Freshman Zev Salsberg is the new Ohio State pitcher. Salsberg has a .360 batting average against. He doesn't walk or strikeout much. Indiana should expect to see hittable strikes. He has a 1.89 WHIP.
