Indiana's luck gets worse and worse. A hit-and-run is a pitch way outside that Mitchell tries to hit but can't reach. Pyne is thrown out. Mitchell gets a soft two-out hit. Then a would-be gapper is collected via a diving catch. Iwinski completes another shutout inning and the Hoosiers are still behind and haven't seen the bullpen yet.

Purdue outfield which was a disaster on Saturday, robs a hit from Jake Stadler. It's another 1-2-3 inning for Iwinski. Purdue has to be very happy with how things are going.

Indiana really needs to get going offensively in the fifth. This is not a top-notch pitcher the Hoosiers are facing. They can't let him eat more innings. You can't count on late inning heroics in every game.

A safety squeeze is fielded by Aydan Decker-Petty but he freezes and is late throwing to first.

My opinion: it's the second inning of a Sunday game with a big Hoosier offense. They are giving you an out. Throw it to first and take it.

A productive fly ball puts a runner on third with one out. Dustin Glant is out to make the pitching change. Rybarczyk lasts just 1.1 innings and is responsible for a base runner that will likely score on a contact out. Aydan Decker-Petty is new Hoosier pitcher.

I cannot overstate how important this game is:

  • 1 game out of 1st in B1G Standings

  • This is a must win for RPI to get into at-large range by end of season as IU can only afford two more losses (must go 7-2 down the stretch)

  • Big resume to get this one on the road

  • It's been a long time since the road team has won this rivalry series and even longer since Indiana has won one in West Lafayette.
