Offensively Evansville has 4 guys with an OPS north of 900 including former Hoosier Kip Fougerousse who is batting .313 with 7 home runs on the year. LF Mark Shallenberger and 3B Brent Widder also have 7 long balls. Shallenberge is the big producer with an OPS of 1.195 and a .368 batting average.

Reed's last start was two weeks ago against Austin Peay. Reed went 4 innings, allowing 6 hits, 2 walks and 4 runs.

He has a 1-inning relief appearance against Belmont last week where he allowed 2 runs and 3 baserunners in 1 inning of work.

Freshman lefty Kevin Reed will start for Evansville. He has an 8.13 ERA on the season in 31 IP with 7 starts in 9 appearances. They have used him a lot. Opposing batters are hitting .315 against him and he has a 1.84 WHIP on the season. It's always important to consider that with freshman season-long stats may not tell the whole story. He has a 15.4% strikeout rate and an 11.4% walk rate.

D1Baseball.com named Reed the number two impact freshman pre-season in the MVC. Reed hails from Martinsville, IN, just up the road from Bloomington. According to the Evansville website, Reed's mother works at IU.
