Like many pitchers, Luensmann pitches Wiggins low and inside. He gets one really bad swing, but can't get a strike on any other pitcher. Two on with one out and there is a mound visit as Penn State hurries the bullpen.

Luensmann is still cruising with a groundout to start the seventh. Despite likely losing this opener, the fact that Indiana cannot even run Luensmann means that Penn State will be able to hold their top bullen arms to try to win the series. Pyne gets hit by a pitch. Andrew Wiggins is the pinch hitter.

Shaw gets behind 3-0 to the 9-hole hitter. A fastball in is called strike one. A curveball over the plate is looked at for strike two. A high infield pop up comes off the glove of the charging Pyne who is charged for the error, but gets an assist by the throwing the runner who was between first and second out at second for the final out. Shaw faces the miminum.

Indiana hitters do not respond going 1-2-3 and Travis Luensmann is now cruising at 88 pitches through five innings. Should be able to get through the sixth at this pace. Indiana for not just this game, but the series, wants to get into the Nittany Lion bullpen.

Three home runs, all to right field. Bothwell is just getting hammered with the fastball not getting into the 90's. He's located relatively well, but there is no margin for error against D1 hitters today with a pitcher like Bothwell who is so reliant on the fastball. Jack Moffitt is the new pitcher. Hoosiers are in a huge hole now.

Bothwell has gone to more offspeed pitches since his fastball is just not as effective today. He finishes the fourth inning with no damage and a respectable 66 pitch count.

The error and the failure to get the double play come back to bite as another Penn State homer extends the lead to four runs. Bothwell comes back with a looking strikeout.

Jasen Oliver mishandles a ball on the ground to allow a lead off base runner. Brenczewski stops a rocket down the line and gets the force out at first. Instead of starting a rundown he throws to second way too quickly and Bothwell doesn't have time to cover first.

Stadler looked at alternating fastballs high and outside for balls and low inside fastballs for strikes. He swung at pitch 5 which was the only pitch over the plate. It got the Hoosiers first hit and run of the game. Pyne also got a hit, but they were stranded when DH Austin Bode swung through a 95-mph heater.

Bothwell gets his 1-2-3 inning with contact outs and is under 40 pitches. He seems to have solid command, but the fastball is sitting around 89 which is not as hot as his typical offering. He's thrown a lot of pitches in recent outings. Could this be catching up with the graduate student?

A groundout ends the inning with Bothwell under 30 pitches which didn't look likely two batters ago. A mid-inning mound visit by the full infield included what looked like an intense pep-talk from third baseman Josh Pyne directed at Bothwell. Now time for the Hoosiers to attempt some damage with the bats.

Two more singles plate a run. Penn State with very effective two-strike hitting. Bothwell isn't putting them away. Finally gets a 4-6-3 double play to settle the inning though a third run scores.
