Right-handed sophomore Bryant Beranek is the opening pitcher for the Blue Raiders. He's made 6 appearances on the year and three starts. with 12.1 innings he averages just over two innings per appearance. Batters are seeing him well. He has a 12.3% strikeout rate and the same rate of free passes (walks + HBPs). Opposing hitters are seeing Beranek well with .393 batting average against. MTSU has used a lot of pitchers and the Hoosiers would do well to jump on Beranek early and force the Blue Raiders to go the 'pen early and often.

Ty Rybarczyk will get the open for the Hoosiers. This will be his third straight mid-week open as pitching coach Dustin Glant attempts to stretch out Rybarczyk for a potential traditional starter role late in the season. Rybarczyk has pitched three innings with a WHIP of 1.0 and an ERA of 3.00.
