It will be curious to see who will be on the bump for the Hoosiers. In speculation, two pitchers who have had some time off due to "tightness" would be ideal to use in an attempt to go for the road top-10 upset. Those would be Freshman Seth Benes and Boston College Transfer Julian Tonghini.
Benes was a let scratch from Wednesday's game due to arm tightness. Benes is coming off of Tommy John surgery. Tonghini was expected to be available Sunday, but did not pitch due to back tightness. Mercer attributed that to the cold conditions. A Benes/Tonghini combination could get the Hoosiers into the sixth inning and if the offense which did well Sunday comes through this could be interesting.
