Troy will start Luke Lyon, a 6-2 right-handed junior college transfer. Lyon has put up some really impressive numbers so far. With 14.2 innings pitched accross 4 games he has a 0.61 ERA, 0.48 WHIP, 32% strikeout rate with only an 8% walk rate. Opposing batters are hitting .065 against him. His longest outing of the year was on the second day of the season when he went. 6 innings against SIU-Edwardsville in a loss. His only earned run was given up in a 4.0 inning effort in a midweek against Kent State. He last saw action this past Sunday, 1.2 innings scoreless against Northwestern State.

As we anticipated on the podcast this week, Connor Foley will remain as the Saturday pitcher, even with this being the series opener. Foley has established himself as the staff ace in the first three weeks. A lot of questions about who will follow Foley out of the bullpen. So far in three games, only Ty Bothwell has pitched after Foley. With the need to cover 18 innings on Sunday, will Bothwell stay in this role, or will he start one of the later games in the series?
