Ryan Kraft will get the start on the mound with five days rest. This would likely set him up to start the second game of pool play in the B1G Tournament.
If the Hoosiers can clinch a spot in the B1G Tournament tonight with a win and a Northwestern loss, they may elect to skip Cole Gilley, so he can pitch game 1 of pool play in Omaha. It’s also possible Gilley could pitch a single inning tonight in lieu of a regular bullpen session and still be in line for a critical Tuesday start.

Hogan Denny pulls a two-RBI double down the left field line. This forces Michigan coach Tracy Smith to make an early pitching change. As Chris Feeny said on Talking Hoosier Baseball this week, Michigan relies on deep starting pitching. This is a huge development for the series to run the first starter in less than three innings while scoring 6 runs.

In a conversation with Coach Mercer a week ago, I asked him about the offense needing to pick up the pitching and the Hoosiers winning a shoot-out. They haven’t won a shootout yet this season.
