This game was originally scheduled for 6pm ET Tuesday, April 29th. Due to storms in the area the game has been postponed.
Evansville’s website shows the game now scheduled for Wednesday, April 30th at 7pm ET. We are still awaiting word from Indiana via X.

The Purple Aces are in a rebuilding mode after a Super Regional appearance a year ago with a veteran team that lost a lot of key pieces. They are 14-28 on the season, 8-10 in Missouri Valley play. This will be the second game these two teams have played, with the Hoosiers winning the first contest 7-4 at the Bart. Both teams treated this as a staff day on the mound, and I would assume the same thing for this one.
Evansville’s strength is in its outfield core, lead by senior centerfielder Ty Rumsey. D1 Baseball’s prospect writer David Seifert expects Rumsey to be drafted this summer. Described as a 70-grade runner, Rumsey can both cover a lot of ground in the outfield and has stolen 24 bases so far this season while getting on base over 40% of his plate appearances.
Overall, Evansville’s offense doesn’t have a lot else going for it. No player is over .900 in OPS, and they’ve only hit 23 home runs on the season. I see this as an opportunity to try out some arms we rarely see in real game action. On the mound, the only pitchers who have serviceable WHIPs are the three weekend starters who will not be part of this contest.

AccuWeather is showing potential for storm activity in two hours of game time. The Weather Channel just shows slight chance of rain. Evansville still says the game is on for Wednesday at 7pm ET.

Drew Buhr didn’t get in Sunday thanks the run rule. Leaving no doubt, Buhr will open this one today for the Hoosiers. He missed the past month with an injury. This may be a short (perhaps 1-inning) outing for the graduate student.

A two-out single and walk had a runner in scoring position, but Buhr escapes the jam with a ground out. The graduate student was mixing his pitches up well. Struggled a bit to command, but got his one strikeout after getting behind 3-1.
